Become a Stylist / Barber at the 4th Annual Bakersfield Natural Hair Extravaganza!

Upside Productions is seeking Stylists and Barbers for our 4th Annual Bakersfield Natural Hair Extravaganza on July 26, 2015 at The Bakersfield Marriott.

Owners, Certified Professionals, Students, and Kitchen Beauticians are all welcomed!

Be seen! Build your clientele! Build your brand and increase your profits! This event brings in over 350 attendeespotential customers for YOU!

 

STYLIST / BARBER ENTRY FEE – SOLD OUT!

Participation

  • Model limit, per stylist = 9
  • Each stylist will be given seven (7) minutes to showcase ALL models on the runway.
  • Check-in: Stylists are to arrive no later than 12:00pm with their models heads completed. Back-stage will be available for alterations and other last minute additions and preparations.
  • Stylist can model, create, or demonstrate on stage.
  • Stylist can bring props as needed. Prop set-up and tear/down MUST be included in time allotted.
  • Styles can include weaves (protective styles), up-do’s, ponytails, press and curl, short cuts and colors, natural and extension styles such as individual braids and twists, kinky twists; tree braids, braided or twisted mohawks, and dreadlocks.

Music / Staging

  • Music selection due at check-in. Music must be downloaded and labeled in a CD format only. Music must not exceed 7 (seven) minutes allotted. After seven
  • (7) minutes, music will be turned off. * Profanity or vulgar music will be not permitted. * Upside Productions reserves the right to refuse inappropriate music selections.
  • Stylist must provide (1) informational index card (IC), ordering each model and their style. IC’s are due at the time of dress rehearsal. IC’s not submitted prior to show will NOT be accepted.
  • Runway schedule (order) will be posted prior to walk-through. Schedule will not be changed.
  • Stylist will be provided 1 (one) walk-through rehearsal time. Approx. 10 minutes

Make-up Artist / Assistants / Photography

  • One (1) make-up artist and one (1) personal assistant permitted backstage, per stylist. No exception.
  • No photographers will be allowed in “Photography Pit” or back-stage. Security enforced. Photographers must purchase tickets for entrance.
  • Minors who are modeling will be allowed one (1) parent in the backstage area.
  • Minors must be present with parent during check-in. Parents must purchase ticket to gain entry into the show.

Stylist / Barber Perks

  • Your business name added to the program handed to all attendees during event
  • Your promotional materials (business cards, flyers, etc.*if available*) will be added to “swag bags” at our main booth during the event (materials must be turned in at the time of check-in).
  • Images of the photos and videography from the event that we post on our website and Facebook pages.
  • Your business will be acknowledged on Upside Productions Blog page, our Facebook pages, and through our Twitter accounts.
  • Be creative. Have fun. Be positive. Express your brand.

 

Payment

  • Payment must be received in full by June 26, 2015.
  • Acceptable form of payment includes money orders, business checks, personal
  • checks, and PayPal.
